About this position...
 
As an Application Engineer your primary role will be Software Engineering/Development. You may also acts as a product evangelist, program/project manager and a marketer to our customers. You will be a consultant and provide support to customers and partners including OEM/ODMs, third party product developers and Service Providers. Your mission will be to help customers as they create or move their products to our silicon. 

What you will do...

Help customers integrate our silicon and software offerings into their products. 
Debug/Root Cause analysis of build/networking/streaming/application/integration issues with drivers and complex software stacks 
Work directly with customers on reproducing/resolving bugs and integration related issues. 
Create and perform high level acceptance testing on software releases before shipping to service providers, OEMs and ISVs. 
Update documentation, including release notes, customer communications, design collaterals 
Contribute to Intel SW and HW product development by providing tech feedback to Intel product teams. 
Provide technical training, consultation, and hands-on assistance to customers in areas of architecture, technologies, code development, and integration of key features.
Address performance issues, and prepare collateral material


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.  Qualifications listed as preferred or additional will be considered a plus factor for applicants.

Minimum Qualifications: 

3-5 years of relevant experience working with embedded systems, set top boxes (STB), development, validation, and/or debug of embedded software 

Expert with Linux OS, drivers and C/C++ 

 

Additional Qualifications:

1-3 years' experience with GIT and/or Yocto
3+ years' experience debugging, replicating and determining root cause problems running complex software stacks 

 


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in broadband network communications 
Knowledge of network protocols and stacks such as TCP, UDP, SNMP, IPv6, Gateway, L2 Switch, VLANs, etc. 
Knowledge of Cable related technologies such as DOCSIS 
Experience in performance profiling and hotspots analysis 
Experience with bootloaders and board support packages. 
Scripting and Database experience also desired
Ability to pick up new code, understand it, and modify/enhance it 
Ability to work in a fast-paced, and interruption-driven environment 
Ability to support customers on a variety of disparate issues at the same time 
Ability to work well with a geographically dispersed team. 
Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
