Cinder Staffing is looking for a motivated Linux Platform Validation Engineer to fill a role for one of our clients in Hillsboro, OR. This is a full time, 40 hour a week position. We offer all full time employees a full competitive benefits package that includes PTO and Healthcare coverage.  The validation engineer is expected to be closely working with other engineers to build reference platforms and validate all software components including Intel developed and open source software. The focusing areas of the current program are Linux (Fedora), OpenStack, OpenDayLight, OVS (open virtual switch), DPDK (data plane development kit), and other components.   In this role, you will be setting up Ansible and Cobbler so that a bare-metal dev system can be created from just a PXE Boot.
Required skill:

  *   Proficient in Linux, virtualization (KVM, Xen, etc.), and network protocols (Ethernet, TCP/IP, ect.)
  *   Fluent in Linux scripting languages (Python, Perl, Bash, etc.)
  *   Working experience in administering and configuring data center and cloud equipment such as Ethernet switch, cabling, network interface, server platforms, and various OS installations
  *   Strong trouble shooting and problem solving ability
  *   Strong attention to detail and must be able to isolate and analyze software/hardware problems
  *   Good written and oral communication skills
  *   An understanding of PXE, DHCP/Dnsmasq, Ansible and Ansible Tower, Cobbler and Kickstart and Fedora Linux
Preferred skills:

  *   Experience in network testing and bench marking tools (e.g., Ixia, Sprint, netperf, iperf, etc.), and performance measurement and analysis
  *   Experience with cloud infrastructure, configuration, and management; knowledge with Openstack, Opendaylight, SDN, NFV, Openflow, OpenVswitch, and DPDK
  *   Experience with protocol analyzers (e.g., Wireshark), and open source development/validation
  *   Experience with Jira, git, gerrit
