Um, no.

The Earth reaching its nearest to the sun and the steepest angle of angle
between this hemisphere and the orbital plain is the reason for the
season.

That was going on (and folks were celebrating it) long before Jesus.

To the Egyptians, it symbolized the triumph of Ra over the darkness in the
East.  This was thousands of years before Christ.

The days started getting longer this week and that is a great reason to
celebrate.
