I disagree.  The single issue has lots of grey.  "Cut-and-dried" _is_
one-bit thinking.  It is equivalent to "premature rounding".  When you
start introducing this kind of error early in the calculation, you are
only increasing almost to certainty that your final answer is going to
be wrong.
