My method works better. Please note that you won't find me in the
phone book or find anything other than an email address below my name
in the employee roster where work because I do not maintain a phone.
My philosophy is if you're too damn busy to see me in person, I'm too
busy to talk to you right now, distance be damned; I take personal
offense at getting pre-empted by a telephone in a non-business
setting and consider dealing with the phone to be the absolute worst
part of any business setting. Given that more people are hurt or
killed by people driving while on the phone than people who drive
under the influence of anything these days, it's time that the state
impound the vehicle and suspend the license of any driver for a year
for talking on the phone while operating a vehicle and revoke it for
life on the second.
In any case, email me, IM me, or even find me on the 11-meter radio[1]
instead and I'll get around to you in less time most people take in
returning a phone call if I'm free. If you don't get a nearly
immediate answer, I'm probably busy doing something I either need to
be doing or want to be doing far more than being tied to a wall by a
disembodied voice on the other end of a wet string.
[1] More entertaining than commercial radio, no serious time pressure
to respond even if you're talking to someone (driver-friendly),
