What symbol are you seeing that signifies "hippies"?  I'm lost on that 
one.

And I certainly hear daily remarks that hippies are a threat to anyone's 
way of life or that they should rightfully be treated with suspicion and 
dealt with by violence.  However, muslems get exactly that treatment.

I don't think any rational person could look around and say that Islam 
gets a "free pass" in any way whatsoever.
