[PLUG-TALK] Multnomah County Needs A New Web Site

Here's something for all fans of e-government (or, at least,
i-government): the Multnomah County web site's page for the Assessor
requires IE 4 or later. It refuses to display on firefox. To add insult to
injury, when the same page is tried using Opera-9.x, a long error message is
generated that the scripts and pages cannot be found and loaded.

I called the office of the Commissioner from out here, and he acknowledged
that the county officials are aware that their entire web site is
antiquated, badly broken in too many places, and too tied to the Redmond
revenue stream.

Perhaps volunteer help in converting it to FOSS would be accepted by the
county. For those whose business is computers and web sites, it might be a
business opportunity.
