[PLUG-TALK] typing on bubble wrap

Even to my unskilled fingers, most keyboards feel like I am typing
on bubble wrap.  I don't need long throw keys, but I do need
"finger feedback" - I need to know by feel whether a keystroke was
successful or not.  Some just squntch(?) like balloons.  Yuck.

There are probably PLUG members that do 10x the typing that I
do - faster and longer hours.  While opinions about keyboards
are colored by what you were raised with,  there are no doubt
brands and types of keyboards that everybody hates the feel of,
and brands that most experienced folk at least tolerate. 
Since there are experts of evert sort on the web, there are
probably experts with websites devoted to keyboard critiques,
though I have not found any yet.

So, in order to add another subject for me to be opinionated
about, I would like opinions on good and bad keyboard feel,
and the brands and models that deliver them.  I don't want to
talk too much about layouts and extra buttons -- if I had my
druthers I would prefer a keyboard layout that matched my
laptop, sans touchpad.  I'm mostly interested in feel,
durability, and amenability to typing fast.

Opinions?  Rants?  Pointers to keyboard expert websites?
