Something good came out of one of Michael's threads!

The first time I built a desktop machine for myself to run GNU/Linux, my
girlfriend put a huge robot sticker on the front of the case, so I called
the machine robot. Later, I moved that machine to a closet to act as the
server on my new home network and my new desktop was named person since
the robot was its mechanical slave. While both of those machines are long
gone, my laptop it still called person and the fileserver is still called
robot. Now I run all my internat-facing services on a rebted UML node, so
it is naturally called shadow (being intangible).
When bitmine.net had multiple hosts, they were mining related words (and
not even vaguely suggestive): shaft, orifice, strip, and screw.
I once built a collection of servers with appropriately selected names
from the ranks of Cobra including Destro (arms dealer), Zartan
(shapeshifter), Serpentor (composite clone), and Tomax and
Xamot (Corsican twins). I leave guesses about their respective
configurations as an exercise to the reader.
