HF is one of my favorite places for tools. I live in Overlook, so they
are easy to get to, although they are also a couple blocks from a Max
yellow stop. Their building is an old Safeway store with acres of
parking.
You have to be careful buying stuff there, though. The majority of
their products are from China. Beware things that are electronic, have
rechargeable batteries, or bearings. I bought a car battery charger
there and had to return it twice before I got one that worked. I
bought a corded electric drill and returned it immediately because the
first time I used it I could hear the bearings rattling. I'm not a
genius with mechanical things, but I know what a bad bearing sounds
like.
On the other hand I bought a chop saw from them and used it to install
Hardiplank on a house. It performed flawlessly and cost half as much as
the equivalent Japanese branded tool from Home Depot. Hardiplank will
break a saw if anything will. And their hand tools are great. I got
tired of never having a hammer at hand when working on houses, so I
bought half a dozen framing hammers from them for $3 each and scattered
them around the job site.
I'd be leery of an ultrasonic cleaner from them, though.
