[PLUG-TALK] Prevalence of "owned" machines

At a contentious meeting last night, I mentioned that the prevalence
of "owned" computers was about 10 to 20 percent. Someone else claimed
that it was "48 percent", as part of their argument that security-
minded behavior doesn't matter, the war is lost but the computers
are still useful anyway.

Can anybody point at a source for a reliable measurement, or know
where the 48% number came from?
