A friend of mine once applied for a job at the Police Bureau,
working the evidence locker. Lots of computers involved with
that. She had to jump through major hoops to get vetted. She
was not an officer, but required the same level of trust.
They are paranoid, rightly so, given that 0wning the cops
gives the power of life and death over anyone in the city,
and access to huge resources.
