I even left out GPS systems.

Years ago in NYC, I came closer than I care to admit to being the
victim of a scam that involved a supposed homeless person pretending
to have found some "valuable" coins packaged as if meant for a safe
deposit box. Presumably, had I called the number on the deposit slip,
the con artist's partner would have urged me to give the guy money and
promised me a large reward. What snapped me to my senses was noticing
that the deposit slip was signed "Dr. so-and-so, M.D." Redundancy to
the rescue.
