Physiological saline is 0.9% NaCl is is made by dissolving 9g NaCl in 1L
H2O. Ergo, for a 2.25% saline solution, dissolve 22.5g NaCl in a litre of
water.

Other than molarity (which normally lives in the chemistry lab), the two
types of solution are weight/volume and volume/volume. Generally, a solid is
weighed and dissoved in a volume of liquid.
