[PLUG-TALK] Windmill WiMax

While listening to the talks about data center cooling at the
Sustainable Technologies conference, I had a silly vision of
wind turbines with servers and WiMax transceivers built into
the blades. Abundant cooling, no power transmission losses,
and a heck of a tall antenna for regional broadband wireless
internet. The antennas would need electronically rotated
feeds, MIMO in three dimensions.

The vision is silly because wind is erratic and low availability,
and the axle bearing loads would be nasty, but it is fun to think
about nonetheless.

Maintenance would be an extreme sport. :-)

On a small scale, a microATX motherboard with a solid state drive
and wifi card and DC generator, spinning at high speed for cooling
and power, would be a bodacious hack.
