Surely they offered PDF or other printable method.  That does not work for you?

A quick google shows the multi year trend is to charge people for paper statements.
I suspect if you're willing to pony up $5 a month or so the bank will send you a 
paper statement. 

Looking at the "product comparison" page for my employer I see that paper statements
cost $2 extra a month.  

So you definitly can contribute to my income and get your paper statements.
