[PLUG-TALK] LibreOffice Writer Keyboard Shortcut

One reason I don't like LO's Writer is the dependence on the pointing
device and difficulties in assigning keyboard shortcuts to functions that
work in emacs, joe, and lyx. I've most of them resolved now, but one
completely escapes me: how to assign 'delete character immediately to the
right of the current curson position' to Ctrl-d.
Looking on the edit and navigate menus in Preferences -> Keyboard, I
cannot find an option to delete just one character. There are a number of
delete (something) options, but not the next character.
My Web searches have not found a solution; the majority of hits only list
the default assignments and the few that show how to modify an assignment do
not have any key other than [Del] for this function.
Has anyone found a way to assign [Del] to ctrl-d?
Rich
