My web searches turn up nothing relevant or useful. If the entire
distribution installed on the SSD I agree that the problem is not its size.
It's apparently not the screen resolution (which was an issue on another
portable and several Slackware versions ago when the kernel did not like
framebuffers) as it's set to vga=normal.
I can boot with the distribution dvd and mount /dev/sda1 on /mnt. When I
edit /etc/lilo.conf and try to run /sbin/lilo the latter tells me it cannot
open /etc/lilo.conf. Don't know why.
Will keep looking.
