   I don't like the feel, either.

   The manufacturer doesn't matter to me as long as it's about 30cm wide and
appropriately deep, front to back.

   I was thinking there ought to be a pen with white or silver ink that would
do the job; hadn't considered clear nail polish as a cover coat. I had
silver and gold ink pens for marking photographic negatives and ink (no, not
the digital ones), but those are used up or dry by now and I don't know how
they'd do on plastic keys.
