Today I received 3 calls, each from a different Oregon city. The first two
I let go to voice mail, the third I answered. All calls were by a
robo-telemarketer urging me to "... press 1 to validate my Google business
listing."
The third call (from Aumsville) I answered, and pressed '1.' The guy who
answered sounded like he was in a call center in Pakistan, the Philippines,
or India. When I asked him what Google listing was involved; whether it was
the equivalent of the Yellow Pages or different from any Web search for my
company name he hung up on me.
So much for prssing '7' to be removed from their call list. I've no idea
what they're selling (or even if it's really Google), but maybe I pissed him
off sufficiently he'll remove my name from their daily calls. Fat chance,
eh?
Since each comes from a different phone number/city/state there's no sense
in trying to report them to the FTC (or whoever would handle telephone
spam.)
