Keith,

I have a few DeWalt, Porter-Cable, Makita, and Milwaukie tools. I recall
learning a few years ago that either Milwaukie or Makita is the last
remaining brand made in the US. I've had no problems with any of them for
years.

My diesel mechanic friend uses SnapOn almost exclusively.

For tools I use only occassionally I buy them at Harbor Frieght and they
last; just don't buy anything with a cutting edge there.

You might consider calling (or visiting) Charles H. Day (11405 SE 37th Ave,
Milwaukie; 503-232-1659 <http://www.chasdayco.com/home>). They used to be on
SE 11th Ave, but apparently found lower overhead outside Portland since
they've moved. I've bought parts from them and had something repaired, too.

HTH,

Rich
