The SSD you ordered is probably the same size and shape as the mechanical
drive*. The adapter it refers to could be meant either for all drives to be
used in that bay, meaning it is already present, or it could be for using a
different type of drive, as they do come in several varieties. In
medium-age systems I see a lot of M.2 drives housed in adapter brackets to
fit them in a 2.5" drive bay. Or it could be talking about something else,
it's hard to say without seeing the actual text you're referring to.

*HDD is an ambiguous term; I realize you are using it to refer to magnetic
storage, and there are others out there who do the same, but that doesn't
make it accurate. It's a colloquialism which I am still resisting. Maybe
some day I will acclimate.
