>From the delightful 2019 book "Wit's End" by James Geary:

-----
J. L. Austin presented a paper on linguistics at Columbia
University in which he pointed out that, while many
languages have double negatives that make a positive,
no example existed of a language in which two positives
make a negative. From the back of the auditorium
Columbia philosophy professor Sidney Morgenbesser, known
for his mordant wit, stage whispered, "Yeah, yeah."

P.S. Also on the book pile is the 2019 "You Are A Thing
and I Love You (How Artificial Intelligence Works and Why
It's Making the World a Weirder Place)" by Janelle Shane
