Mine was an amphibious tank driver on Saipan. He never talked about it, 
except once when he told of sharing a foxhole with some general. The 
only other thing he talked about related to WWII was that his group was 
blessed with someone who knew how to cook powdered eggs. Hats off, and 
hands on hearts for all who served during that war.
