[PLUG-TALK] Votes and Candy

[Keith Lofstrom]

While looking for data on obesity (I'm not, but the
suitcase I checked in at PDX was close), I found a map
of states with the highest incidence of obesity:

https://www.economist.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/original-size/images/2012/08/blogs/democracy-america/20120818_wom065_1.jpg

That looks similar to this map showing political "red"
and "blue" states:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Red_state,_blue_state.svg

Imagine the survival, census count, and voting district
allocation consequences of the free distribution of a
billion dollars worth of Mountain Dew (46 grams sugar
per 12 fl. ounces) in the high-obesity states ...

Time to board my flight. I'm wearing a facemask, and
sitting by a coughing, overweight person who doesn't
cover his mouth. I just washed my hands, and have
plenty of alcohol wipes ...
