There is no single answer. Wind direction and speed control where suspended
particles go, how quickly they travel, and when they fall out of suspension.
It's a fluid dynamics question.

My opinion is that wearing a mask while you're sitting on your porch is
sufficient protection because every other factor is beyond your control.

The oregonlive.com web site has (or had) a map of the ZIP codes with the
highest infection instances. That information will give you a better idea of
your risks.
