[PLUG-TALK] A to Z: The First Alphabet, and the Etruscans

Many will have caught 'A to Z: The First Alphabet' on PBS this evening.
I found it an excellent production, except that it sort of ended with
the Phoenicians and didn't discuss the Greeks and later developments in
the world of alphabets. Toward that end I recently wrote a paper on the
Etruscans, who borrowed their alphabet from the Greeks and passed it on
to speakers of Latin, as well as to ancient Germanic tribes in the form
of Runes.
