I hope that this does not come as trolling.
Seriously, you have not notice that this is the land of monopolies, duopolies
and cartels - ISPs, any kind of utilities
(power/water/gas/oil/..../internet/..../drugs) advertisement, airlines, rail,
health.
The list goes on and on - obviously this is the primary reason for the societal,
economic and technological decline.
There is no single factor to it, it is combination or all the usual suspects -
lack of equality (personal and business), non functioning government unable to
supply, maintain, innovate and expand infrastructure (this includes legislation,
regulation and enforcement of competition), lack of equal representation (not
all votes are equal), politics and law for sale .... there is not enough time in
the day to list just the most basic stuff.
I understand, people are outraged, angry, ...... This is PLUG, suppose to be
technical -- Is this the best place to be angry about general state of affairs?
Can we please go back to have flame-wars about ZFS, digital rights management,
not-available computers, the new MS Pluton thing ....?
