[PLUG-TALK] Firefox RAM requirements

There have been a number of recent posts here about Firefox, but none
of them addressed the following issue for Firefox 105.0.1 on Xubuntu
22.04, up to date. The Help > About says 'Moz F Sync for Ub.,
canonical-002 - 1.0.' Apparently it is the snap version.

The problem is that the computer runs normally, except for Firefox,
which lags into sometime next week when trying to do anything. The task
manager GUI says that CPU and RAM are both at 85-90%. The computer has
32GB RAM. I don't know the command to find the CPU, but the computer is
close to two years old and at the time of purchase had the next to the
highest CPU option, whatever that was. When Firefox is in this state it
takes 1-2 minutes to switch to a different tab. This affects only
Firefox; Chromium runs normally, and so do LibreOffice, Claws Mail,
torrent client (Deluge), and everything else.

If I kill Firefox and restart it, performance is normal for an hour or
so, and then things slowly bog down until it is virtually unusable
again.

I could use some suggestions. :)
