I was previously the IT manager for a company whose primary business was a
call center. I did a lot of experimenting with phones and headsets. at the
end of the day, there are only 4 wires so the worst case scenario is that
you have to try each combination of wires until it starts working.
I had to buy an rj9 crimper and re-crimp a lot of headset cords (hundreds).
