i> If I send an email at 1AM to a friend on the East Coast, does it
cause phone beeps that wake them at 4AM?

Two good answers ("no") from Ted and Wes.

I will continue to Stay Up Too Late, sending emails
to recipients around the world, the contents of which
I may regret in the Pacific Timezone morning.

BTW, I mentioned deployed military ... in 2025, service-folk
presumably have a separate email and telephone channels for
"business".

However, decades ago, when land-line phones were expensive
and one-per-residence, their missions often required them
to answer their home phone 24x7.

Even during sex.

One disciplined officer taught me to respect a brief "NOT
NOW", and to expect a callback after intimacies concluded.
