This may not answer your question directly.

I just spent the weekend adding some CSS coding to
a web site I was designing. I was amazed at how
differently web pages using CSS were rendered with
different web browsers. I was developing with a text
editor. I'd look at the pages with 4 different
browsers as I was writing HTML/style sheets. I'd
often have to give up on a certain technique and
use something different to get the browsers to
render similarly.

I think a GUI tool would have slowed the process
down quite a bit. But perhaps a GUI design tool
might be aware of the browser differences and
automatically choose the best technique. I don't know.

Mozilla seemed to have the best support for CSS for
the things I was doing. IE support was pretty awful
but I'm not using a recent version. I can't
download a new version of IE because I don't have
enough room on drive C: and there seems to be no way
to install on another drive. The same problem exists
with Netscape 7.1. Netscape allows me to select another
drive but still tells me that I don't have enough room
on drive C. Perhaps there a secret for stealthy
drive selection I don't know about

Are Windows designers getting more stupid as time goes
on?
