[PLUG] cisco 678 DSL latency issues

Ok, the sollution below worked on my laptop, and placing a hub between
my linux router and the cisco 678 worked great for a few days. Last
night sometime everything started taking 2 seconds to work again
(still just latency). All the hardware concerned is on a UPS,
including the hubs and cisco. As far as I can tell, the only thing I
have changed in the system was plugging a telepohne into my answering
machine (there is a filter between the machine and the wall, trying
without the phone changes nothing).

This time mii-tool and hubs make no difference (where they fixed the
problem before).  And yes, the conncetion works great under windows.

What should I do about this? Could my 678 be faulty, and windows is
just better at dealing with it? I find it hard to believe this is still
an auto-negotion problem.
