Yeah, while building cables can be fun, the RJ type connectors require 
special tools and are just not worth the cost of the tool  unless you are 
doing dozens and dozens.  Radar Electric on SE Washington & 7th is pretty 
reasonable.  Last time I was there bought a bunch of 3' cat5 for $2.50/ea.
