I'm unfamiliar with MailMonitor, but at work we use a combination of
MIMEDefang/sophie/sophos on a Sun 220R running Solaris 9 that works
just fine. The average scan time in our setup appears to be about .25
seconds, with rare spikes during heavy traffic when a scan will take
longer than 1.5 seconds.
