Should be a standard Intel Pro/100 PCI NIC driver.

Wow, sounds like you've done a lot of speculation about this.

System Imager certainly works well installing various Linux distros, and
I'd suggest you take a look at it in light of your questions.  I haven't
the faintest idea how SI is with Windows/DOS, but I'd guess that if you
can figure out how to write a DOS bootsector from Linux, it'd be fine.
I never got round to testing PartImage, but it's supposed to work well.
