Thanks to all for the info. I also found an add-on for non-touch
monitors that would work at:

Price isn't too bad at $179 for a unit good for a 13-15" monitor. And,
they have a Linux driver. The downside is that any ordinary monitor,
tube or lcd, takes up too much room on the counter top, or is too tall
to fit under the wall cabinets.

So, I'll probably give Audrey a try. My wife thinks she can live with
the 6 1/4" by 4 3/4" screen, and it better fits the current budget.
