Hmmm I am not getting good answers.

I would track down information on dsniff, perhaps there is a way of
using it.

A bad bad trick is have a down nic on the net.  Set it's mac to B's
mac.  ifconfig up when you need it......

Perhaps that is what you were trying with dummy devices.
