Valid point.  Now consider that the person in question is your neighbor
who is paying you to store some of his valuables in your house.  He has
informed you that he suspects that you aren't keeping your house secured
properly and intends to check up on you occasionally.

Is our metaphor getting any closer or is this truly a losing
proposition?
