[PLUG] unable to mount ext3 file system

hello,

I'm in the process of upgrading from RH 7.3 to RH 9.0.  I have three extra disk
space disk that are each 120GB that I had on a second controller in the old machine.
 I took them out and bought 3 new disk that I'm going to place in the old machine
once the upgrade finishes.

What I would like to do is use rsync and move the date from the old disk to the new
disk.

To achieve this at a fast speed and together I have another RH 9.0 box where I'm
trying to mount one new drive of 120GB and one old drive.  I will then run rsync and
have the drives ready for the new computer when it finishes.

The problem is I can't get the old drives to mount on the new machine.  I have the
new drives created and working fine.  I have tried each of the old drives and they
all tell me:

mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/hdh,
       or too many mounted file systems

when I try to mount.  I'm mounting these with this command:

 mount -t ext3 /dev/hdh /oldcomputer/disk1

I have tried ext2 and ext as well but same results.  I have tried running fsck but
it says to try with another superblock if I have a ext2 partition and I have ext3
journaling.

any suggestions on how I can get these hard drives mounted?  I do have them backed
up on Tape but it seems I should be able to just mount and rsync and that would be
much faster being they are on the same computer.
