I'm trying to set up a relay that only forwards locally generated 
mail to the hub.  Does this look like a file permissions problem 
on the queue directories?  There's no firewall blocking on goose 
where the inside interface of this server should be wide open.
What should the permissions on the .cf files be?  I've set 
everything under /etc/mail to 0600 including statistics.

What is submit.cf under /etc/mail for I wonder?  Is an extension
referenced in sendmail.cf or a standard cf file?  I test moved
it resulting in sendmail trying to use procmail which isn't 
installed.  Sendmail should be sending to goose but it seems
to want to send to localhost.

It has a DSgoose.robinson-west.com in sendmail.cf and I know that
resolves from this box.  Should local-host-names be empty on the
relay?

The mail directory under /var/spool has permissions: drwxrwxrwt.
How do you check sticky bits?  What does the t mean?  The mail
directory is owned by root.mail.

The directories /var/spool/mqueue and /var/spool/clientmqueue are
drwx------ and drwxrwx--- respectively.  Again, I don't know
how to check sticky bits, etc.  The directory clientmqueue is
ownership smmsp.smmsp, mqueue is root.wheel.
