  Yup. I did.

  Checked the 2.4.19 kernel and I have both CONFIG_PARPORT_PC=m and
CONFIG_PARPORT_OTHER=m.

  Haven't checked for differences in the char devices section yet. But, I
rebooted into 2.4.19 et voila! Printing.

  Guess it's time to rebuild 2.4.27.
