Aaron,

   Interesting. I changed the Device URI to lpr://192.168.55.192/lp in
/etc/cups/printers.conf and the printers Web page won't load. Used the
command line to bring up /usr/bin/printers and sent a test page. Nothing's
happening. The process status list shows the job:

16978 ?        S      0:00 ipp://lj5/192.168.55.192/ 20 rshepard Printer Test Pa

but I don't know why it's suspended.

   Do I have a syntax error in the definition? In /etc/hosts I have:
192.168.55.192  lj5.appl-ecosys.com     lj5

and in /etc/cups/printers.conf I have:

<Printer laser5>
Info
Location salmo
DeviceURI lpr://192.168.55.192/lp
State Idle
Accepting Yes
JobSheets none none
QuotaPeriod 0
PageLimit 0
KLimit 0
</Printer>
<Printer laser5_non_ps>
Info Single side printing
Location salmo
DeviceURI lpr://192.168.55.192/lp
State Idle
Accepting Yes
JobSheets none none
QuotaPeriod 0
PageLimit 0
KLimit 0
</Printer>
<DefaultPrinter laser5_ps>
Info Postscript version
Location salmo
DeviceURI lpr://192.168.55.192/lp
State Idle

JobSheets none none

</Printer>

   Aha! I'll bet it's the location, no? It's no longer directly attached to
the server but to the switch. Do you know off-hand what location I give it
now?

Thanks,

Rich
