[PLUG] Audio Capture

This seems to be a somewhat neglected topic, even
under Windows, which offers a limited sound recorder
by default. I am presently using Fedora 2, which
includes one sound recorder that doesn't work. It's
the only application that crashes, in fact. (I can
hear sound when I breathe into the microphone, so I
know that it's detected.)

I am also interested in recording online radio
broadcasts. There are such applications for Windows,
apparently all of them commercial.


Can someone recommend audio-capture applications for
Linux?
