   When you look at the preview there is a dashed rectangle that defines the
area to be included in the scan. Perhaps that rectangle excludes the right
side of the page.

   When I scan a multipage document to produce a .pdf file I always adjust
the rectangle to the same size for each page so the output is consistent.
It's easy to overlook that rectanglep; I know that I did when I first
started using xsane.
