[PLUG] How to make my laptop look like a USB charger?

My initial impulse is along Daniel's lines.  Get a USB extension cable
and snip the data lines.  That way, the laptop doesn't see the mifi
and the mifi doesn't see the laptop, just this stream of electrons
zinging up one of the wires.
