Mine are installed in
/usr/share/fonts/truetype/msttcorefonts/
so I'd check to see if they are located in there. If they are, maybe you
can run something to "fix" the fonts.
Check the following man pages:
mkfontscale
mkfontdir
fc-cache
to help you rebuild the files / listings.
