Marvin,

Have you already tried connecting to the web server from your home PC
using SSH? Most home routers do not block outgoing traffic and only
require modification for inbound traffic, which this would not be. You
should be able to use scp or sftp to connect to the web server from
home. If you're using Windows at home, WinSCP is a great program for
doing this. On Linux most graphical file managers support sftp://
addresses to accomplish the same.
