[PLUG] Open Source Apache Hadoop is the NSA's Star Performer

That article confuses me. I didn't listen to the audio, but the headline is
"Why PRISM is powered by *private-sector *technology", and then they go on
to talk about how the NSA uses open-source software. I get that companies
in the private sector contribute to the development of hadoop, but that
headline is misleading.
I also have to echo the comment at the bottom (at this time, the only
comment on the post):
"I don't understand the point of this article. It is critical of the
government for not having created something as good as Hadoop. So when
private companies use Hadoop, it is smart and cool, but when the government
uses it, it shows how inadequate they are? If the government did spend the
money developing its own system, I'm sure it would be criticized for
wasting money and not using what's available in the private sector. Again,
what is the point?"
Is this post just a badly-worded summary of the audio?
