If it's an OEM version of windows (Dell/etc.) then you won't be able
to re-activate it as a VM as-is, from XP onward. The license is only
valid runniung on Dell/etc. hardware.

Win2K on the other hand doesn't have that affliction.

It's a shame you can't do the world a favor by replacing a 100W+ idle
P4 system with a nice efficient VM version of the same box.
